Another Couple's Dream Ends on Strictly Come Dancing! It's always heartbreaking to see a pair leave the dance floor, and this week was no exception. Ross King and his partner Jowita Przystał had to say goodbye after a captivating Movie Week, leaving the competition after a dance-off. But what made this elimination particularly poignant? Let's dive in…
This past Sunday, Strictly Come Dancing waved farewell to Ross King and Jowita Przystał. They found themselves in the bottom two, facing off against Balvinder Sopal and Julian Caillon. Despite a spirited Paso Doble to the Thunderbirds Are Go theme, Ross and Jowita's score of 19 points wasn't enough. Balvinder and Julian, who performed a Foxtrot to 'The Way You Look Tonight,' secured 26 points, ultimately earning them the judges' favor.
Movie Week was filled with dazzling performances. Lewis Cope and Katya Jones even earned the first perfect score of 10 of the series! The judges were also joined by guest coach Cynthia Erivo, adding extra sparkle to the night.
The judges, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, and Anton Du Beke, unanimously voted to save Balvinder and Julian. Even head judge Shirley Ballas agreed with the decision, highlighting the tough competition this season.
A Tearful Farewell
Ross's departure was filled with emotion. He expressed his gratitude to everyone, from the supportive audience to the entire Strictly team. He also gave a heartfelt tribute to his partner, Jowita, calling her a mentor, teacher, and everything in between.
Jowita, in turn, expressed her admiration for Ross, stating, "And I still stand by it!" She also added, "Thank you so much for all of your work. For everything you have done during rehearsals. We laugh a lot – but we also cried! Thank you so much, and I hope I'm going to be a little part in your life forever."
More Highlights from the Show
Sunday's results show also featured a performance by the professional dancers, paying tribute to the Minecraft movie. Nancy Xu and Kai Widdrington delivered a showstopping dance to Lang Lang's 'Reflection' from Mulan.
What's Next?
The remaining 13 couples will return to the dance floor next week. Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday, October 18th, at 6:30 pm, with the results show on Sunday, October 19th, at 7:15 pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Both episodes are available on BBC iPlayer.
